Electrical Maintenance to Interrupt DMV Services |
Work to be completed by Sunday afternoon |
CARSON CITY – The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is anticipating a six-hour interruption to all services on the morning of Sunday, April 7. Electrical work being conducted at the DMV's Carson City office requires a complete powering-down of the building, including all backups and redundancies - meaning that the DMV's computers will be offline from 6 a.m. to noon on Sunday. "This is traditionally not a high-traffic time for our web servers," said DMV spokesperson Eli Rohl. "We do want to reiterate that everything using a DMV server will be completely dark - our website will be down, our emissions reporting network, and our online services. The good news is that it'll be ready for you by the time you get back from lunch." DMV offices are closed on Sundays, and impacts to customers are expected to be minimal. |
