RAPID REGISTRATION IS NOW AVAILABLE TO ALL NEVADANS

More than 4,000 Transactions Completed Using New Service

CARSON CITY – The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles’ (DMV) newest and largest transformation product-to-date is now available in all Nevada offices. All Nevada customers can now register their vehicle online through Rapid Registration at www.dmv.nv.gov.

“I can say with certainty that this release holds great significance here at the DMV,” stated Public Information Officer Hailey Foster. “Being able to see how the Department Transformation Effort (DTE) team, who first conceptualized Rapid Registration, banded together and created this product to better serve the customers is truly special and is a big step to our goal of moving most of our services online.”

Rapid Registration first launched in the Elko and Sahara DMV offices on August 12, with Carson City and Reno joining the expansion soon after. With each office rollout, the customer’s utilization of this service has grown exponentially. To date, there have been over 23,000 DriveNV portal creations and over 4,000 successful registration transactions.

“The many transactions that have already been completed in a just a few short months shows how much our customers want DMV services to be moved online,” Director Tonya Laney said. “You don’t have to come into a DMV to complete your registration. You can do it from your living room and it is so easy, fast and convenient.”

Rapid Registration is available to new residents who have not yet registered their vehicle in Nevada and customers who have purchased a vehicle from an out-of-state dealership, private party with a title in their name, or vehicles that are gifted from someone else.

With this first phase, customers still must come into an office to pay and pick up their license plate and registration. Future phases will eliminate the requirement to visit an office.

The DMV will launch another big product release in January allowing for online vehicle titles.
