Complaints & ID Theft

CED accepts complaints against auto dealers and other DMV-licensed businesses. We also assist in helping customers combat identity theft involving a Nevada driver's license or Nevada ID card. File your case online or you may complete and mail in a paper form.

Licensee Complaints

The DMV investigates violations of vehicle sales laws and other violations committed by licensees such as dealers, repair garages, emissions stations and driving schools.

Please review “WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE FILING A COMPLAINT” carefully before you file.

The DMV DOES NOT represent private citizens seeking return of money or other personal remedies as a result of contractual disputes or civil actions.

Identity Theft

Contact your local law enforcement if you believe you have been a victim of identity theft.

If your Nevada driver's license information has been misused, file a complaint with the DMV. A police report is not required but is strongly encouraged.
